Dr Kathleen holds a Bachelor’s, Honours, and Master’s degrees in Psychology from Macquarie University and recently completed her PhD in Medicine at the University of Sydney. Alongside her clinical work, she teaches Psychology at Macquarie University, where she enjoys mentoring and supporting beginner Psychology students.
Kathleen is a warm, compassionate, and empathetic therapist who believes that truly hearing and acknowledging a client’s experience is critical to the therapeutic process. While she has extensive training in multiple therapies, strategies, and techniques, she sees validation of a client’s lived experience as the foundation of healing.
Many of Kathleen’s clients seek support because they feel stuck, misunderstood, or in emotional pain. They may struggle with relationships—whether with a partner, children, extended family, co-workers, or even themselves. Others experience emotional swings or find themselves relying on food, anger, work, alcohol, or shopping as coping mechanisms. Some have lost someone or been deeply hurt by a loved one and want change but don’t know how to move forward.
Kathleen has experience treating a wide range of mental health challenges, with a special interest in anxiety, relationship counselling, OCD, and Borderline Personality Disorder. Her focus is on helping clients identify what’s holding them back and supporting them in making meaningful changes so they can live life on their own terms.
In her spare time, Kathleen enjoys cooking and gardening.
